The primary focus of this video mentorship program will center on solo travel. However, in discussing how to excel at it, I would be hard-pressed not to consider its two most popular counterparts: Sidekick (with a friend) and SIG (with a significant other). The reason is that the concept of traveling solo has not gained much traction in society, specifically in the USA. Therefore, it is my task to facilitate your transition into a solo traveler and ultimately a strategic traveler by incorporating the conventional ways of travel and how to modify them appropriately. Furthermore, by inserting the techniques of solo travel into the sidekick or SIG methods, you'll get a sense of what you can achieve if you transition to the solo traveling lifestyle.
There are three distinct sections in the Becoming A Strategic Traveler program. The first is Pre-Trip; the second is On-Location; the third, Post-Trip.
In the first section, I will cover how to prepare your finances, but more importantly, your mindset. You will face various cultural challenges, and to overcome them, you must begin with a strong foundation. In the second section, you will enact the mentality and techniques developed in the previous phase. But, conversely, you will maneuver through situations too ambiguous and costly to replicate at home. Finally, in the third section, you will analyze your experiences from a detached perspective. With this information, you can adjust where necessary and propel yourself towards mastery in traveling the world solo.
Ultimately, the value of this process lies in merging your travel career and personal life. The key, however, is to do it in such a way that the choices you make when traveling will supply your daily life with constant energy. A source that will push you past moments of uncertainty, monotony, and passivity–all of which can debilitate the unfocused individual for years.
The hope is that this process finds a person in need as I needed it in my late teens. That's not to say a person outside the ages of 18-25 cannot benefit from this course, however. It just means it will take more work to reprogram an undisciplined mind that has taken root and left unchecked and unchallenged for decades. The more complex, the harder it will be to destroy bad habits and create new ones. But I encourage you, as I would my younger self, to keep participating and let the ideas manifest themselves until they reach full potency. Ultimately, no matter who you are or where you are from, every technique can be used by those willing to push themselves mentally and physically.
